"The horror genre is a natural vehicle for social satire. In a horror movie the rules of society have been abandoned, so you have a wonderful kind of freedom to express ideas about all sorts of different things; politics, religion, cooking. I love to have an audience screaming, but I want to have them laughing as well. If everything works right, the film will give them something to think about while staying up all night from all that scary stuff."
